How to commission a portrait
I offer a commission service to draw any animal your heart desires using high quality lightfast and archival materials.
Your portrait will occupy a good proportion of the page with usually a white background surrounding it.
A 25% booking fee is required to secure your slot. The rest of payment is due on completion of your portrait.
Please book your slot early should you require your picture for a special occasion as drawings take many hours to complete. I will update you on my progress throughout the drawing process.
The end result being something you can cherish for a lifetime!

Taking a good photo

A good quality reference photograph is crucial to creating your portrait. Digital photography where possible is best. The better the photo the more detail I can create!
A few tips for taking a good photo are as follows:
- Photograph outdoors where possible in natural light with the sun behind the animal
- Don’t use filters or any other settings that may change the colour of your animal. Ensuring the photo is a true representation of the colour of your animal is essential
- Avoid the animal looking directly at the camera. Head to the side or at an angle is best
- Ensure when you zoom in on your photo there is lots of clear detail, especially of the eyes
I will discuss with you which photo will be best to use before starting the commission
